Mental wellbeing and Trauma Informed support sessions for children and young people
What Is Offered:
1:1 Sessions: Personalised sessions designed to meet the unique needs of each child or young person.
sessions include: animal care and grooming ( horses, sheep, chickens, dog, cat and guniea pigs), woodland activities and crafts ( Meadows and Minds has it’s own designated woodland area,) nature walks/dog walk/ walk and talk time, arts and crafts, trauma informed activities; sand tray work, emotion cards and big empathy drawing
Location:
Sessions take place in an all-natural environment surrounded by open land, animals, and nature.
Approach:
Utilising trauma-informed techniques, Meadows and Minds creates a safe, supportive space for children and young people to express themselves, facilitated by an emotionally available adult.

At Meadows and Minds the opportunity to experience nature, happens during every session, the site is set in open farmland, and there is also access to Meadows and Minds designated woodland area.

Nature-Based sessions help children and young people enhance their emotional and psychological resilience, allowing them to cope better with life's challenges. This is achieved through immersive experiences. including Interactions with animals which can fulfil attachment needs, ease anxiety and loneliness, improve self-esteem, facilitate emotional regulation, help build resilience and foster empathy
Skills Development
In young people, the presence of and interactions with animals has been associated with improved learning outcomes (e.g. literacy, verbal skills) as animals may stimulate curiosity, and are beneficial to the development of children and young people's, cognitive, behavioural, educational, and social development..

We provide a safe and nurturing environment where children and young people can explore . Our nature-based, Trauma informed approach allowing personal growth and the development of coping skills. Interacting with animals can reduce stress, and provide a source of non-judgemental and unconditional support
